A number line is marked off by a circle of unit diameter. Starting from zero, the circle “unrolls” its circumference. At one full turn, the unrolled circumference has extended to the point we call À. This number is real but irrational, transcendental, and cannot be constructed with compass and straightedge.

ummm Why?
Title in not quite accurate. This is how pi is defined, but its not how pi is “calculated”.
You cannot “calculate” pi, only compute a numerical approximation to pi.
My phone number is the last 7 digits of pi.
o_O
Lol you can’t have the “last” 7 digits of pie because they dont exist.
Duh. That’s the point.
Epic fail.
but by WHO!
