There’s a similar sign near my job; the sidewalk turns into a rough dirt path. There’s a big wordy sign disclaiming ownership, responsibility, and maintenance for any part of the path beyond where the sidewalk ends.
I always thought it was for snow removal crews that would otherwise not know the end was near because of the snow cover. But if you don’t get snow, there goes that theory.
