I did die my hair just for this costume. I bleached it twice and died it blonde once and that’s all that came out of it. I was disappoint 🙁
I went to the Central Canada Comicon. Adam West and Julie Newmar were there. ALSO the man who played Chewbacca. I can’t remember his name off the top of my head. I would have called him Chewie anyway lol.
THIS IS HOW I MADE IT:
I bought a green bodysuit online. it had the entire head covered so I had to chop that part off. I painted the yellow on the bodysuit. painted the gloves (they were black), painted the jacket (it was black) and I painted the boots (they were white and came from the hooker store). then I just made the little X-Men logo with fun foam. I had to do like, 5 layers of paint for each. and I got it all over my room and myself 🙁
I entered two costume contests and I did not win either 🙁 I can post pics of who DID win and you guys could judge? hmm, hmm?

for first cosplay, I would go all out. this one was my first one that I worked super hard on and it was really worth it. I went as bra from dbz before that, but I was 12 lol.
next year for comicon, my ex and I are going as Matrix and AndraIa. so. pumped.

Oh yes you do. And whoa Zatanna is equally awesome. I saw once a girl in a costume like that except it was in green with leaves, she was trying to look like a version of Poison Ivy. She-Hulk however… I don’t see how she won. You mean the people who got the most cheers could win? That’s silly, you can just bring a lot of your friends and have them cheer.

yeah man! the girl who dressed as zatanna actually sewed her costume. and her top hat was the legitimate popping kind.
I’m pretty sure she-hulk won a prize because she went onstage and did some hot dance or some shit like that. I don’t like being on stage, so I went on and stood in the corner and waved, then I ran away. lol.

San Diego was fun, but intense. Sleep was barely an option. And by barely, I mean not.
The warnings I now give based on one year:
1. Don’t expect to get any exclusives. Not even the small ones.
2. Don’t expect to get into a room/screening/panel/etc if you show up to wait in line near its start time. I got lucky on a couple of these (Mattel, and Diamond Toys), but even the tiniest room can be packed all damn day if it happens to have something super popular. My buddy Jeff went to one of the big auditoriums two days while we were there, and stayed there with a video camera the entire time. He didn’t bring extra batteries. Me and my buddy Chris really wanted to go to the final Lost panel. This did not happen because we decided to go back to the hotel and sleep for a few hours. We did not wake up. I was told that quite a few people were trying to be in line the day before. DAMN
3. Bring extra shit. Like aforementioned camera batteries.
4. Bring food. The food at the con is shit, and the closest restaurants will mean you miss something. PB&JFTMFW.
And if you are already a con-goer, then you may already know all of these things, and think I’m a silly man for trying to tell you something you already know. If that is the case, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
And bring the image dump.

I wanted to meet julie newmar but it was $40 for an autograph and another $10 for a picture. I was so poor after making my costume that I didn’t see her haha.
I refuse to pay for autographs. Pictures are reasonable to charge for, (though I’d prefer you let me use my own camera and not charge a thing) but not autographs. I don’t care who you are, I am not paying you to sign a god damned thing.
that’s the thing though! you couldn’t get a picture unless you paid for an autograph. I was like, man that’s bullshitty.
